This project is a furniture store and showroom for Copenhagen located along their primary walking street in the core of the city. It is a building that fits within the rhythms of the city while using those same rhythms to attract people into the showroom.
I broke the façade into sections; the entry and pedestrian context element, the vertical element to draw people visually and physically up the building, and then the framed façade to provide balance.
On the interior the space continually draws and attracts people further up and further in. Showcasing the furniture in such a way that it is almost up on a pedestal but it is still accessible. This was done by continuing the idea of the façade through the building and using what was the vertical section on the front as wedge section that is almost driving itself in past the more solid elements on the other side.
